Laser-Based Fabrication of ZnO/Graphene Hybrid Photodetectors

Hybrid optoelectronic devices comprised of graphene and zinc oxide enable UV photodetection with high responsivity and spectral selectivity. Here we fabricate two graphene-based hybrid photodetectors: one with ZnO thin films grown via pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and the other with ZnO nanoparticles synthesised via pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL). The performance of these photodetectors is evaluated and the laser-based processing techniques are compared.
