As the next generation material of engine of aircraft system, ceramic matrix composites (CMC) of SiC fiber and SiC matrix (SiC/SiC) is expected. However, for this purpose, new accelerated degradation test method for SiC/SiC CMC is necessary to know long-term deterioration damage in the order of several years.

We are now developing new laser heating method and system called “Selective Laser Thermoregulation (SLT)” for accelerated degradation test of SiC/SiC CMC. The SLT system is composed of fiber laser system which is not absorbed by steam atmosphere and Galvano mirror system which enable to control the irradiation position actively to compensate its temperature decreasing. Therefore, this system is expected to be able to adjust the temperature of any shape at any temperature even in steam.

In previous study, we reported design of the SLT system [1]. In this study, we report actual heating and numerical calculation of our SLT system.
