Green femtosecomd laser direct writing properties using multiphoton-absorption-induced reduction of glyoxylic acid Co (GACo), Ni (GANi), and Co/Ni (GACo/GANi) complexes were investigated. Absorption spectra of the solutions exhibited high transmittance at the wavelength of the green femtosecond laser (515 nm) and high absorption at the half of the wavelength (258 nm). XRD spectra of the square micropatterns which were formed by reducing GACo, GANi, and GACo/GANi complexes indicate Co, Ni, and Co-Ni alloy, respectively, precipitated at the laser scanning speed of 20 and 10 mm/s. The metal oxides such as CoO and NiO were generated at the scanning speed of 1 mm/s. This metal and alloy direct writing technique is useful for fabrication of functional microdevices in microelectro mechanical systems.
